Returning to God

Hey you,

Long time no see!

I’m sure you’re a little surprised to hear from me again. Chile, I’m even surprised I’m writing here again, so we’re both starting off on the same page.

Man, have I missed you! I got a call from a guy in the sky about you.

Well if I’m honest,  it was a couple of calls but who needs the receipts? We’ll just mosey on past that :)

I hope you’ve been doing well? Holding onto God as best as you know how.

So much life has happened for me between now and my last post, so I’m certain the same is true for you.

Different seasons can produce so many questions and answers all in the same breath but I’m here writing to you today because I’m finally ready to unpack my journey with you again.

Not a day went by that I didn’t think about writing to you; sharing what God was teaching me, what he was pulling me through, and checking in on you to see if you all had been experiencing the same thing.

Unfortunately despite my many running thoughts, I kept everything in my heart and mind because I got scared. There were so many moments where what God was doing in me was not pretty. The lessons and revelations I was encountering were not your “ideal” inspiring posts, so I withdrew from speaking about it altogether.

My choice to go silent was an indication that my memory had failed me. I had forgotten that the anchor scripture for this platform was 2 Corinthians 1:7 (MSG):

"When we suffer for Jesus, it works out for your healing and salvation. If we are treated well, given a helping hand and encouraging word, that also works to your benefit, spurring you on, face forward, unflinching. Your hard times are also our hard times. When we see that you’re just as willing to endure the hard times as to enjoy the good times, we know you’re going to make it, no doubt about it."

I forgot that this “unwavering desire”, this relentless pursuit you and I possess was never about perfection. This pursuit is about the “try”. It’s about a longing to see God more in every crevice of our lives.

And if Christ - (a holy man) wasn’t afraid to get in the mud with me why should I be afraid to get IN and OUT the mud with you?

So here I am, in full authenticity and divine transparency, excited to run alongside you again. I openly recommit to this vision of unwavering desire. I recall this goal and prayer to mind - “to support you with consistency and lavish you with words that transform your life.”

I may not know what has occurred in your life over the past couple of years, or the things you’ve overcome, but the word of the Lord has come for YOU and YOUR sake. Get excited! He’s thinking about you and working on your behalf.

I am convinced that the lord will fill my heart and mouth with words that you need and reminders that you’ve been looking for. I hope you’re ready for the ride!
